Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, wearing compression stockings is recommended all day.
If you are wearing a compression product for the first time, your body should gradually get used to the compression stockings: start by wearing them for shorter periods, then gradually increase the duration. The “adjustment” period can last from one or two days up to one or two weeks. This is necessary because, in the initial phase of wearing compression stockings, the strong compression pressure may cause discomfort, giving the impression that the stockings are “too tight.”
Since the stockings are made from fine, thin yarn, handle them carefully to avoid mechanical damage. It is recommended to use rubber gloves when putting them on and taking them off.
How to Put On Leg Stockings:
If you purchase a Class 2 or 3 open-toe AF, AG, or AM product, you will find a green donning aid in the box. The donning procedure is as follows:
- If available, place the donning aid over your foot!
- Turn the stocking leg inside out up to the ankle!
- With your thumb in the heel section, pull the foot part of the stocking onto your foot and carefully adjust the heel.
- Gather the stocking leg in your hand!
- From the part of the stocking you are holding, pull it up the leg about 5–10 cm at a time, and smooth out the section so that the fabric is even. Continue this process until the entire stocking is pulled up.
- If available, grasp the tip of the stocking aid and pull it off the foot.
- When removing, insert two fingers into the stocking leg and gently slide the stocking down off your foot.
Treatment recommendations
Compression stockings should be washed by hand in lukewarm water (up to 40 °C) using a mild alkaline detergent. They may only be wrung out by pressing them between dry towels. Do not place the product on a hot radiator or in direct sunlight to dry. Do not iron.
Do not remove the loose threads or thread ends inside the product, as this may cause damage to it!
CE certification
The manufactured products are classified as Class I medical devices under Decree 4/2009 (III. 17.) of the Ministry of Health, which implements Directive 93/42/EEC on medical devices. They comply with the essential requirements set out in Annex 1 of the decree and possess the performance intended by the manufacturer. When used as intended, they do not endanger the health or safety of the patient, the operator, or any other person.
Warranty
Pharmatextil Kft provides a 3-month warranty for preventive products and a 6-month warranty for medical compression stockings, arm stockings, and joint supports. This means that, during this period, when worn daily and used according to the care and donning instructions, the products will retain their compression properties and size. The care and donning instructions are also included on the product packaging.
