Wearing Elastobol Fly stockings is primarily recommended during long travelling (long-distances flights) as they significantly reduce the risk of deep venous thrombosis that easily develops during travelling. During car, train and plane trips, the lack of movement and the compression of the veins caused by sitting slow down the blood flow towards the heart. This may lead to the development of thrombus in the leg veins. This thrombus can completely block the vein, or it can start moving as the blood pressure increases, and lead to the most common complication of thrombosis, pulmonary embolism.
Elastobol Fly embolism preventing knee high stockings exert a compression decreasing from the ankles up, and this way they support blood flow towards the heart, lowering the risk of thrombosis and improve travelling comfort on long trips.
